Potential answers include pushing through and writing something crappy just to break the block down; rage; grief; wandering away to play a video game.

In reality, the best thing seems to be to either push through it, or stop what you're doing and go do something else productive. Like workout, or shower, or something along those lines.(less)

Well. Mostly over at SuperversiveSF.com and Castalia House, lately. Anything that I write scifi-wise for a blog will probably be on one of these two sites, but The Badger Contemplates will remain for when I feel like railing against some sort of theol

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in
“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”
Miles Kington

C.S. Lewis
“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
C.S. Lewis, On Stories: And Other Essays on Literature

Nick Cole
“You couldn’t educate hate out of people who needed someone less than themselves, someone they could point at and measure their lives by. They”
Nick Cole, CTRL ALT Revolt!

Milo Yiannopoulos
“The Schola, unlike the rest of the city, was no shining tower of crystal. It was, instead, a low, squat building, made of rock the exact color of a muddy sheep. Anders had seen more than a few muddy sheep in his life, and supposed that the Schola found them a creature worthy of emulation. They were certainly useful creatures, although Anders thought they were perhaps more appealing to the eye when they were clean—or, better, as a chop seared over a fire and rubbed with herbs and seasoning.”
Milo Yiannopoulos, Forbidden Thoughts

J. Mulrooney
“Remember, I come from a family of atheists. In fact, a family of Catholic atheists. The kind who believe you have to be punished for your sins even if there is no God. My folks should actually be Unitarians, the church specifically designed for atheists with children.”
J. Mulrooney, An Equation of Almost Infinite Complexity
