I'm glad you enjoyed Little Beasts. Whenever one sends a work of art out into the world, there's always a substantial measure of uncertainty about how it will be received. I love that we have these platforms available to interact with people who have read my work and took the time to reach out and tell me.
Indeed I have started another novel. I'm calling it an "ensemble novel" and it will remain in the town of Turnbull. The chapters are arranged as fairly self-contained stories, but the characters in all of the chapters intersect at various points along the chronological and genealogical timeline to tell the story of "families rising and falling in America" to quote Hawthorne. I've been taking some time with it. This story is probably the most ambitious and challenging I've ever undertaken. I'm still in the process of getting it right, and I'm hoping to complete it by the end of this summer.
