“Who is the more righteous? The stoic farmer who dutifully tends his fields while the world burns? Or the man who brings merciless violence to the enemies of peace? Is the common criminal an equal villain to the agent who kills on behalf of a cause greater than himself? I’ve answered these questions and made peace with their consequences. As I mounted my horse alongside Vettias, my mentor in the dark arts, I would need to draw on the fortitude these answers provided more than ever. We”

“It’s time to talk about your future in this army. I allowed you to fight at Orcynia with your lochos and I almost lost you there. You will not be reintegrated into the phalanx under our new organization. You have served me well over the past year and it is time to take your place as my aide on the battle staff.”

Thank you for the friend request! This isn't a question, but it just so happens that I'm watching the film, Alexander, at the moment! I studied Alexander the Great back when I took Ancient History, but we stopped at his death and didn't really look at the aftermath (although I knew a little bit about it), so your book sounds like a fantastic read!
Sorry it took me so long to comment but thank you for the friendship and I will try to read your book when I get the chance!!
Thank you for the friend invite Christian. I have recently joined Ancient & Medieval Fiction group because I am very interested in the history of the past. I haven't browsed the site properly yet but was a bit disappointed that there was so much YA commentary. Nothing against some Ya input of course. I found the description of your book very much to my liking.

Apologies for not keeping up on this site, I am traveling/backpacking through Oceania and working the Wine Harvests as I go. Reading a ton presently and haven't had the chance to update. Appreciate your reading list and queue, look forward to a more active exchange.
