Blair Bancroft is an award-winning author, multi-published in several different romance genres. Her eclectic background includes a career in music, with forays into editing and costume design. She wrote her first novel only after it occurred to her that her mother being a successful author didn't mean she couldn't be one too. Blair has traveled most of the United States and as far away as Siberia and Machu Picchu, with emphasis on touring Great Britain and Ireland, and enjoys using bits of her travel experiences in her books.

Blair’s first book, TARLETON’S WIFE, won RWA’s Golden Heart award. Her traditional Regency, THE INDIFFERENT EARL (now published as THE COURTESAN’S LETTERS) won the Best Regency award from Romantic Times and was a nomine ...more

I have to admit Anne McCaffrey's dragonworld of Pern popped first into my head, perhaps because I've treasured it for so long, re-reading almost all the books again just last year. And then came George R. R. Martin's world of fire and ice, best known as Game of Thrones. Truly shocking, since I am best known for my books set in the elegant, sophisticated, relatively safe world of Regency England. And after that, I'd like to have an up close and personal look at the world I created for my Blue Moon Rising series.
What would I do in these places? In Pern I imagine myself as a daring dragonrider, of course. (We are talking fiction here!) In Game of Thrones? Truthfully, I'm not sure I'm hardy enough to survive, fiction or not. But if I could manage it, I'd like to be among those who help put Jon and Daenaerys on the throne (as so many are rooting for). In Regency England, I would like to be a political hostess, steering conversations, subtly settling quarrels, contriving in my lil' ol' female way to rule the nation. And as for the Blue Moon Rising series, I want to be one of the three kick-ass princesses playing a big role in defeating the classic evil empire. (And suffering over little brother K'kadi, the boy who doesn't talk.) (less)

Gallery, incl. Remarkable "Launch" Pic

I had no intention of giving Cassidy more space this week, but . . . on Tuesday morning (10/13) she came up with what has to be one of the most amazing launch pics ever. Her story: she was up a 3:45 am so she could be off on a solo 500-mile flight to Georgia and back in one of FIT's Cessnas. (Flight origin - Melbourne, FL) She was flying past the Space Center at 6500 feet when the rocket went up
