Jacqueline Carey (born 1964 in Highland Park, Illinois) is an author and novelist, primarily of fantasy fiction.

She attended Lake Forest College, receiving B.A.'s in psychology and English literature. During college, she spent 6 months working in a bookstore as part of a work exchange program. While there, she decided to write professionally. After returning she started her writing career while working at the art center of a local college. After ten years, she discovered success with the publication of her first book in 2001.

Hello, this poll for the group series read along is based on the suggestions from those of you who've posted in the "suggestions" thread. At this point, the plan is for us to decide on a series. Once the series is decided, we'll vote again on a start date of either August 15th, or Sept. 1st. The end date will be dependent up on which series is chosen. We'll have a folder dedicated to the series, and a thread for each book. Whether you're just starting the series, or already somewhere in the middle, you can read at your own pace, and comment in the appropriate thread. There will be a wonderful masque ball to celebrate Jacqueline Carey and the Longest Night on December 16, 2017 near Harrisburg, PA. I attended the ball last December, with my wife, and had a fun time. Ms. Carey is a delight to meet - she will be at the Longest Night Masque this year, again.
