Horses, Wyoming and realizing a Childhood Dream

When I was a kid about ten or so, my dad gave me his boxed edition of My Friend Flicka/Thunderhead by Mary O'Hara--something he'd read as a kid of about the same age. I loved the story of Ken, his deep bond with his horse and the trials of family life during the 40s on their ranch near Laramie, Wyoming.
