Like I'll just be sitting somewhere and then *boom*, I gotta write something down. For Fiction I was actually drawing inspiration from my own experiences with a stupid preteen crush on a certain vampire. I drove my family crazy with my obsession! After I (finally) got over it, I began to wonder what would happen if someone actually did fall in love with a fictional character. It didn't even become a story in my head for a while, a whole year after I'd come up with the original idea. Eventually though, I didn't have anything else to write at the time, and I decided that I'd finally give it the attention it deserved. (less)

“Let us find the dam snack bar," Zoe said. "We should eat while we can."
Grover cracked a smile. "The dam snack bar?"
Zoe blinked. "Yes. What is funny?"
"Nothing," Grover said, trying to keep a straight face. "I could use some dam french fries."
Even Thalia smiled at that. "And I need to use the dam restroom."
...
I started cracking up, and Thalia and Grover joined in, while Zoe just looked at me. "I do not understand."
"I want to use the dam water fountain," Grover said.
"And..." Thalia tried to catch her breath. "I want to buy a dam t-shirt.”
Rick Riordan, The Titan’s Curse
