Ascent into Hell

Been reading this novel by Andrew Greeley. Follow a man who enters the Catholic priest but subsequently follows other paths. An easy read but may be uncomfortable for the devout.

Memorial Day

Two weeks ago I reviewed and lead a discussion on my second novel, Memorial Day. We have a book club at the facility where I live. The novel is Civil War oriented but much has to do with a family of turn of the 20th Century looking back at those earlier events. A lot of the discussion got into events having to do with ethnic conflicts and business activities that were a feature of early 1900's. I had self published so it was a chance to get rid of a lot of those books stored in the hall closet. Free is good.

Short Stories

I'm having a series of my short stories put together and formatted as an ebook on smashwords. It's going to be a freebie.

I recently published in ebook form my memoir entitled The Way It Was on smashwords. Writing it was lots of fun.

Different strokes

The other day something caused me to remember a novel that I read about seventy years ago entitled "The Little Shepard of Kingdom Come" set in the Civil War era. Google found it for me and there were two comments on it. One called it a piece of racist trash and the other described it almost in sweet terms in following the central characters.

Edge of Eternity

Getting towards the end of Ken Follett's (one of my favorite authors) third in the Century Trilogy. Good stuff but not an easy read like some of his novels. Many characters. Interesting how people in different countries view BIG events like the Cuban Missal Crisis and the Kennedy Assassination.
