My name is Kareylyn. K.S.R. stands for Karey, Shirley (my mom's name), and the R, just because I like how it sounds. Stories have been meaningful to me my entire life. Back in high school, there were books that came at just the right time to help me understand how I fit in the world in a way that made more sense. Because of them I knew I wasn't the only one who felt different, lived with difficult things, or was faced with hard choices.

After publishing Secret Speakers and the Search for Selador's Gate back in 2010, I didn't think I would ever write again. That is, until July 2023 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, when the whimsical, zany and powerful world of Primørdiya showed up in my mind as I sat next to a sweet cat named Max. I could n

Karey's Story

And so, every day I'm trying to spread my wings by spreading a message of comfort to those who know no comfort, a message of companionship to those who feel utterly alone. The only way to soar is to share. It is through service that we are made whole.

We all get second chances. We all have the capacity to give. And it is by giving that we know God. God bless you. God bless all those who suffer. Read more of this blog post »

“There are many ways to be alone, and some of them are almost divine. There is a feeling that comes from being at peace in such a solitary moment, sensing in a very deep way that the space you occupy is important and fulfills the measure of its creation by simply being”

Cheryl Hey Karey,

How is everything going?? I hope all is well and that you're feeling better! :-)

I hope you'll consider reading Lancelot's Lady, my debut romance novel on Textnovel. I've entered it in the Dorchester contest and I can really use the support. I need all the votes I can get.

Lancelot's Lady is a manuscript that is unfinished (I'm adding chapters daily right now) and I'm really excited about where it's going and the response I've gotten so far. Since I usually write suspense novels, this romance thing is a bit of a challenge. lol

Please vote "thumbs up" if you enjoy it.

I see I'm not the only one who has had the pleasure of being in one of Mark Strand's classes. At the end of the semester he said, "I don't know why you've all been working so hard all semester writing poems. All you had to do is write one and I would have given you an A." We all about leaped over our desks to strangle him.

Jeanne Hi Karey,

On your profile, you wrote: "Before graduating with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Utah in 1987, Kingworth was taught by Mark Strand, former Poet Laureate of the United States. He said one of her poems sounded like a Hallmark Card, (which she took as a compliment . . . ?)"
