You write a book for three years (Jalan Jalan), send it to all the agents, get an MA distinction for it, end up self-publishing, win Guardian Self-published book of the month award, and still only sell a handful of copies (and none since winning-huh?).
What do you have to do??
Anyway mustn't grumble, it's all been fun and I like it. I'm going to try and get into the community more (sounds a little strange and worrying) and start enjoying being a writer even if I'm not a successful one.
If anyone has any questions about getting self-published and whether it's a pain in the bum or not, please feel free to ask and I'll share experiences. Trying to fit all this in in work time too, none of it's easy, I tell you.
