Well there we have it, the Tories and Liberals have formed the new government. Did you see the joint speech that that both leaders gave on Wednesday. Not something I ever expected to see in my life but life is filled with surprises. I only hope that they can do a good job together and not hammer those of us that are stuck at the bottom of the social system. Being Scottish I fear the return to the days of Thatcher when we saw Scotland suffering to save jobs in England. I know it wasn’t only Scotland that suffered under her government but the Northern England as well, but not to the same degree. The new government in Westminster will need to walk a careful road north of the border for if they don’t it could lead to more support for the breaking up of the Union. Some south of the border may feel this wouldn’t be a bad thing but what the government fail to tell the country is that much of the electricity produced in Scotland is for south of the border and then we also have the oil, 60% of which is in Scottish water along with 80% of the natural gas. This is something I doubt that Westminster would wish to lose, so we have Mr Cameron north of the border today with promises to run Scotland with respect, we will see.
As for my writing, I have begun chapter 17 in my new tale and can see how thing should progress to the end. I still haven’t made up my mind on which ending to use but do think that the original ending is still the better of the two. Though there are good reasons to use the alterative one as it would make it easier to open up the possibility of a third book. This though should not be the only reason for going down that road. In the end it is what is best for the story, not whether it makes it easier for me to have a third book. The story has to come first.
