I sat the course but unfortunately I didn't have the right kind of ID to sit the test. I need photo ID or my original birth certificate to prove who I am. I only have a copy of my birth certificate and no form of photo ID. That has meant sending off for a Provisional Driving Licence. When I get that then I have to get in touch with the company that was running the course. I will then be able to sit the test plus with a bit of luck be able to resit the course as it will most likely take between two and three weeks to receive the ID. Looking on the bright side it will allow me more time to take in all the information I need to digest to pass the tests. As I was going for the CCTV Operators SIA badge there is a lot to learn. You need to know for example the laws pertaining to CCTV and its legal use. There a three main ones which I need to know. Then there is the different types of camera's used by the industry. There are lots of other stuff that I will need to learn. I did do a couple of mock test and just failed. The worst thing it was on the minor stuff like health and safety that I came a cropper. Typical.
I haven't had much time for anything else this week as you can imagine. I did get into the garden just to do some light weeding. While doing that I check to see what had started to sprout. The potatoes are beginning to show face as are my peas and onions. Though that seems to be it for the time being. I planted the tomatoes into a pot to start them off on the kitchen window sill. I'll try to get them to a few inches before putting them out into the new sack in the garden. There is still the chance of a touch of frost in the mornings so I want to protect them for a bit. In a few weeks they should have come up and be ready for the outside. That is if I have some luck on my side.

Just stopped working on another silver chain for Calum. This time it is a Wiggly chain that I am making and he wants some stone pendants hanging from it. This chain is easier though than the last one I did but it is the first time I have done this style so more enjoyable for that.
This week has seen a lot of heat even if the sun has been shy. Though yesterday it did break through to make a lovely summers day. My garden plants must have enjoyed it. My carrots, potatoes, and the herbs are doing really well, When I say herbs that is other than the rosemary which I think I will need to put in a separate tub with some sand mixed through the compost. Mind I will need to get the sand for that and with money on the low side it will need to wait just now.
I got my ID back from the SIA this week. I was glad to see they didn't need them for long and they were quick to return them. Now I have to be patient will they do their security checks before making the decision on whether or not to give me a licence to work as a CCTV operator. Of course unless they have a reason to turn your application down then you shouldn't have a problem getting the licence. Still waiting for the decision is the hard part and that can take 5 weeks. It seems like a long time, and in some ways is, though in this age with all the recent events in the world an understandable one. We you wouldn't want them letting the wrong individuals work in security let alone CCTV. My hope if I do get a job in a control room that I do a good job.
