I was out picking my eating apples today. Though they don't look great being covered in scabs, though not all of them, they aren't to bad. I got about a dozen apples in total. Not a lot I know but I do love apples. I have an apple every day at work so these should save Magz buying them for a couple of weeks which is a good thing considering the cost of everything these days. I unfortunately lost the pumpkin that was growing. I noticed that is was rotting on top when checking on it today. I'm beginning to think growing pumpkins isn't a great idea if you are doing it in tubs. I will need to think of some other way to grow them. Maybe a grow bag as I have for the tomatoes. Speaking of which I am now getting a nice little crop from them now. They have taken their time to give us much and though we aren't getting as many as previous years it is still a nice number. There are more blueberries to be picked tomorrow as well. Magz has already made two crumbles with apples chunks and blueberries. They went brilliantly with custard and I'm now hoping she makes muffins with some of the berries that are left. That will also leave enough for a nice pie to go with more custard. I do love cake and custard, yummy.
Things are slowly dying down after the referendum. I am still get the mick taken out of me by Ross at work. He voted no and thinks reminding me of how we are better together as he knows I was for the yes camp. It is all in good fun though which does help us all get over the passions that was raised during the long campaign, especially towards the end when things began to become more heated. The disappointment that I feel is slowly being replaced with the acceptance of the situation. We as a nation just aren't ready to be a member of the grown up world of nations. We would rather blame Westminster for all our troubles than take the responsibility for it ourselves. Or at least that is how I imagine the world see us now. Then again I am biased in my thinking and maybe that isn't so much how the world sees us but rather how I see Scotland now.

It has been a rather stormy week here in Scotland. Luckily not a great deal of damage was done. Most of what was done was to the northern isle and the Outer Hebrides where power was cut off for a day or two. Not the best start to winter for those affected by it but hopefully they are back to normal now. Especially as Christmas is closing on us fast. Because of the unfriendly weather I still haven't pruned the tree and the garden is in more need of tidying. It always amazes how much rubbish can land in my garden after a storm. Sometimes I'm sure there must be an angel of messy gardens and it is his job to make everyone's garden share the clutter. Or rather he is a rather lazy angel that gets to the first garden he sees then dumps the lot there to leave the wind to do the rest. Sadly it then all ends up in mine, hehehe. I think there is a story there somewhere.
Talking of stories I started writing as you know the other week. Unfortunately I didn't continue last week as I had planned. The first tale is still sitting unfinished as I can't quite find the images that come next. So I will leave that for now and start my next as I can see the first part of that one. The thinking here is that is I write what I have that at some later date the rest will reveal itself when it is ready too. Ok maybe not the greatest idea as that never work when I was younger. Though at least I will have the beginnings of lots of short tales within the one world sharing something that could link them into one story. I know your confused as I can't really explain it without giving away my concept which I still have to clarify to myself yet. That is the way it is with me. Each story reveals itself differently. Sometimes it doesn't ever come out fully. Sometimes life gets in the way. All I can do is try just as we all do.
