Two Delilah Street stories now in eBook
ONCE UPON A MIDNIGHT NOIR is a mini-anthology with three mystery-paranormal stories. A Delilah Street noir urban fantasy story, "Bogieman," introduces her supernatural-run Las Vegas where CinSims (black-and-white film characters) are immortal tourist attractions... until Sam Spade is killed.
Carole's contemporary Las Vegas version of Sam Spade, a black cat detective who narrates his adventures in Feline Noir, is Midnight Louie. Being a cat with that mystical, nine-lives mojo, Louie visits Delilah's darker side of the street, so to speak, in "Butterfly Kiss," a novella from a vampire anthology. He even meets a vampire cat.
A unique project requested Midnight Louie to solve the case of an unfinished story fragment left by Edgar Allan Poe, set in 1795 "Norland." So Louie's newest Past Life adventure has him walking in Poe's footsteps.
MONSTER MASH
Delilah is hired by werewolf mobster Cicereau to rid his Vegas hotel of classic early film monsters that are driving away tourists. Her investigations uncover a monstrous family tragedy behind the haunting.

Great Trip, Great Honor at Malice Domestic (2011 Guest of Honor)
I'm back from Romantic Times and Malice Domestic conventions with news: I'll be Guest of Honor at next year's Malice Domestic convention. Sue Grafton will be Lifetime Achievement Guest of Honor and Donna Andrews will be Toastmaster. This is not a Malice to miss!
I should say that I and Midnight Louie will be Guest of Honor. When you collaborate with a cat PI who is fully shived from the factory, you don't want to leave him out of any honors.
Look at what our adult adopted feral cat, Audrey, Jr., has been up to lately: hopping on the bed and fighting the "Foot Monster" (me) with fierce teeth and claws. Thank goodness for blankets! An aggravated Midnight Louie would be three times as formidable.
I don't have the heart to stop Audrey from making mince meat of my toes. Becoming a "bed baby" was more than two years in the making for her. Feral kittens over five weeks shy from human contact. Audrey was 15 months old when we trapped and brought her inside. She adapted beautifully to the litter box, lolling in sunny spots on faux fur and cat beds all over the place, and to our other rescue cats and dog.
It's just us humans she regards with a wary eye and runs away from. Now, I've finally lured her to me. Ouch! What's a little human sacrifice for the feral feline nation?

OFF TO THE EAST!
The new Delilah Street cocktail recipe bookmarks should arrive Monday, just in time to pack for leaving Tuesday for Romantic Times and Malice Domestic conventions.
They are gorgeous because the Silver Zombie book cover is gorgeous, an Emerald City green with blue, just like Delilah's gown. She's carrying a silver sword but wearing no black leather this time.
The Silver Zombie cocktail recipe Delilah and I concocted for this book is a pale opaque silvery blue with darker blue at the bottom. With Silver tequila, lime vodka, Alize Bleu and Blue Curacao plus some unusual mixers, the drink is both pretty and good tasting.
My husband is making a snazzy traveling box to display all four bookmarks, including ones for Dancing with Werewolves, Brimstone Kiss, and Vampire Sunrise.
It takes two to tangle with all the tasks that go along with getting books out.

Opening Day!
An author's work is never done. First I managed to set up a Facebook page at Carole Nelson Douglas and now an author page at Goodreads. And there's my WIP (work-in-progress) website, http://www.carolenelsondouglas.com
I'm busy writing Midnight Louie's latest adventure, Cat in a Violet Vendetta, and preparing to attend two back-to-back (to the point of overlapping) book conventions:
April 27-May 1, the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Columbus, Ohio
May 1-2, Malice Domestic mystery convention in Bethesda, near D.C.
If you're attending, say hi!
