A Taste of Playing Dirty (Play Series #3)

Trish tears her mouth from mine. “What are we doing here, Daryl?” she asks, her green eyes heavy with desire.

“I think that’s fairly obvious.” My voice is gruff with passion as I pull her hair to one side, finding the sensitive spot where her neck meets her shoulder and nipping it lightly with my teeth. I feel her shudder as her neck arches, allowing me greater access to her soft skin.

“I mean, what is this? Is this just physical attraction? Is it something…more?”

I lean in to kiss her softly, gently. “I want you, Trish. I’ve never been in love, never been close, so I don’t know what it feels like. I guess I’ve always thought I would just know. But if it’s caring about another person’s safety more than your own, thinking about them every hour of the day, wanting to protect them, hold them, make love to them, then I’m already in deep. Because that’s how I feel about you.”

Trish pulls my head down again, kissing me deeply. “Show me,” she breathes against my mouth.

Look Deeper

Look beyond what you see

Open yourself up to the wonder and

Value of life, so that you may

Experience all facets of your existence.

Cherish every touch like a precious gift,

Unfettered, honest and raw.

Revel in those quiet, tender moments,

Enduring and sublime,

Subtle yet divine.

Allow your pain to strengthen you.

Let the light back into your soul and

Languish in the joy of self-acceptance.

Heed the wisdom of others and

Absorb the lessons they impart.

Turn away from the negative and

Enrich your life with the positive.

Do you see the hidden message?

Playing Rough – Book 4

Dawson

The last thing I expect to find when I’m called to a late-night disturbance is a drop-dead, gorgeous blonde trying to break into the local prison, when most sane people would be trying to break out. But the biggest surprise of all is that I know her. In the five years since I’ve seen her, Kaylee has blossomed from pretty high school junior to the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen – a woman who not only steals my breath, but also my self-control. I should be focusing on the job, on finding out what’s brought her to the gates of the prison and back into my life, but all I can think about is having her under me on soft sheets, while I brand her mine from the inside out.

Kaylee

Demanding entry into a maximum detention facility to see the father I never knew existed probably wasn’t my smartest ideas ever, especially when the cops show up in the tantalising shape of Detective Dawson Ford, who’s more than capable of throwing my ass in jail. Dawson is no longer the skinny senior I remember from high school, but six-feet-five of mouth-watering temptation, and I want nothing more than to feel his lips on mine, his hands on my body, helping me forget the nightmare that is my life.

As the undeniable attraction between us catches fire, what should have been a simple quest for information quickly escalates into a deadly battle of wills, leaving my fate, and my life, in the hands of a ruthless monster – my father.

Reviews are Gold-dust!

Can I ask a favour? If you’ve read any of my books, can you please head over to Amazon and give me an honest review. Your reviews help to raise the profile of the books on Amazon and help with sales – writing in NOT a lucrative business but your input really helps.

Thank you so much.

The Green Eyed Monster

We probably all experience the little of the Green Eyed Monster from time to tome, but have you ever met someone who is consumed by all that another person has? It’s always struck me as a waste of energy to be so focused on what others have, rather than appreciating all that we have. Better to focus inward on making yourself a better person, rather than outward trying to mimic someone that you are not.

The Green Eyed Monster

Are you jealous of another

Of the house where they reside?

Yet it’s only bricks and mortar

Not a reflection of what’s inside.

Are you jealous of another

Of the fancy car they own?

Yet it’s only sheets of metal

It’s not blood, or flesh, or bone.

Are you jealous of another

Of their beauty and good looks?

Yet it’s only a facade

Much like the cover of a book.

Are you jealous of another

Of their dream job and their wealth?

Yet it’s only gilded trappings

And is no match for love and health.

To be jealous of another

Is to make yourself undone

For jealousy is the worst misdeed

Born of comparison.

To be jealous of another

Is such a fruitless quest

Turn that mirror on yourself

To see how richly you are blessed

To be jealous of another

Is energy expended carelessly

So rise above and invest your time

On being the best that YOU can be.

Friendship

Friendship

You may be near, you may be far

But you, my Friend, live in my heart

When I’m up or if I’m down

I know you’ll always be around.

Through the thick, though the thin

Never letting me give in

To the hurt, the pain, the fear

You listen with an open ear.

Our friendship’s woven through the years

Forged by laughter and by tears

All those memories replayed

Are snapshots of our story framed.

Acquaintances come, and they will go

But they will never truly know

What it means, your soul to bare

And the depth of friendship that we share

The time to say these things is now

Whilst health and providence allow

I will not speak these words too late

Or leave them to the hands of fate.

And so I hope these words convey

All the things I’m trying to say

That the beauty of a friendship true

Is the thread that twines from me to you.
