Goodbye, YALC!

We survived YALC! Thank you so much to everyone who came to the stand and talked about 'Battle Ground', Brexit, writing, publishing, and all our fandoms. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who bought a paperback, or downloaded 'Battle Ground' and 'Making Trouble'. It was a pleasure to meet you all.

Thank you!

Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported 'Battle Ground'! We published a week ago, and so far the book has been the Amazon number one free download in three different categories, reached number 41 in paid YA Dystopia, and collected some amazing reviews. We've been to YALC, and met readers and writers who were passionate about YA, and excited to read our post-Brexit dystopia. Amazon ratings are at 4.8 stars.

'Battle Ground' is a near-future UK-based YA Dystopia, suitable for readers from 13 to retired.

Battle Ground reviews

Battle Ground has gathered some amazing reviews over the past two weeks! We've achieved a 4.7-star rating on Amazon, and a 4.5-star rating here on GoodReads. We've appeared on 21 book blogs, and the novel has been described as 'relevant', 'thrilling', 'thought-provoking' and 'scarily near the mark'. Jazzy Book Reviews called it 'engaging, thrilling, intense, and wild', and Radzy Writes called it 'awesome'.

Thank you to everyone who has written a review or rated the book! Here's my favourite review, from Writing With Wolves.

More reviews!

I'm still amazed by the reviews for 'Battle Ground'! Here's how two bloggers reviewed the book:

'I enjoyed how well the author fully encompassed the mind of a teen, and how the world is portrayed. ... Plot wise, this is a well-paced novel, which keeps the ball moving and all the different parts oiled and flowing. I didn’t realize I’d read half of the book till I came up for air, and overall ... it’s written incredibly well, and the author has made it their own enough to feel fresh. If you’re a fan of the genre, especially YA, this will be an awesome next read.' (Radzy Writes)

'I don't want to spoil anything, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I flew threw it faster than any other book I've read this year ... and that's saying something. I honestly couldn't put it down. It's engaging, thrilling, intense, and wild ... If you love YA dystopian fiction, or books that will immediately suck you in and take you on an action-packed ride, you'll definitely want to grab a copy of 'Battle Ground' today. 5 very well-deserved stars from me!' (Jazzy Book Reviews)

This year's most relevant dystopia is still 99p on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VCSY3CS/

Battle Ground - Book 2!

I'm so excited to announce that False Flag, Book Two of the Battle Ground Series, will be published in two weeks! False Flag will go live on Amazon on September 5th, and the Kindle edition will be FREE, 5th-7th September. You can also pick up Battle Ground, Book One of the series, FREE on September 5th.

False Flag follows Ketty Smith, an instructor with the Recruit Training Service, turning sixteen-year-old conscripts into government fighters. She's determined to win the job of Lead Instructor at Camp Bishop, but the arrival of Bex and her friends brings challenges she's not ready to handle. Running from her own traumatic past, Ketty faces a choice: to make a stand, and expose a government conspiracy, or keep herself safe, and hope she's working for the winning side.

The Battle Ground series is set in a dystopian near-future UK, after Brexit and Scottish independence.
