Other times they are fully formed and are just shy, scared to make themselves known.
Either it is best to step away from the computer screen at these times.
I find going for a walk, usually accompanied with music is really helpful. It distracts me from the frustrations of writer's block and helps the thoughts to flow easier again.(less)

These characters take on a life of their own as they progress with me through the pages of a book.
I like to write background for the main characters before I start. Some of this information is never mentioned in the book but I like to think it helps them become more life like.
When I went back to re-read Terror Byte prior to its release I found that I had missed Norton and Orchid.(less)
