"DON'T GET ME CONFUSED"

The reason for my title, "DON'T GET ME CONFUSED" is that believe it or not there is another Paul Zunckel out there who is signed with Krest Publishing and unfortunately due to this strange turn of events I have changed my authors name from Paul Zunckel to P. Zuncks, but nothing about my books have changed.
I have been busy with my latest novel called "Savage Moon", and this project has been taking up a lot of my time but apart from that I have been very blessed to have been offered two publishing contracts with a South African publisher which is the best news yet as it means that my work will now be available in my own country.
The name of the publisher is KREST PUBLISHING and they are found on the sunny coast of KWA-ZULU NATAL in the awesome home town of mine, namely DURBAN and the two novels which they have taken under their wing are "CRY OF THE FISH EAGLE" and “SHADOW OF THE LEOPARD” so it is something that I am looking forward to. The first official release of my work in my own country!
They still feature Piet van Zyl and his African Adventures and just to ensure that there is no confusion on which are my books, originally written under my birth name here is a list of the books. These books are all available on Amazon as well as Smashword and Goodreads under Paul Zunckel.
• Blood Moon Over Africa
• Blood Spoor in the Dark
• Blood Demon-Revenge
• Devil in Eden
• Mask of Deceit
• Whispers in the Wind
• Fangs of Fury
• Into the Darkness
• The Smoke That Thunders
• Man in the Shadows
Books that will now feature my new author name, P. Zuncks will be the two books that my publishers will be releasing and hopefully many more to come. So “Cry of the Fish Eagle” and “Shadow of the Leopard” will be released under P. Zuncks.
I hope that this clears up any confusion regarding my work and you the reader continues to enjoy following Piet and his adventures.

Looking for Votes

Hi All,
I am on the hunt for votes for my cover for "The Devil in Eden" and would really appreciate it if you would follow the link and add your weight to the voting.
The cover was designed by Eeva Lancaster and is just one of the awesome covers that she has designed for me and they say that a picture speaks a thousand words.
Unfortunately the cover that is shown here on Goodreads is not the cover in the competition but if you follow the link you will see what I mean...:)

Free Give Away

Hi All.
It has been awhile since I have been able to join you all on social media but I am back with an offer I hope that you cant refuse.
I am offer you a free e-book copy of my latest novel "Fangs of Fury" in return for a review of the book.
If any reader out there is interested here is the synopsis
He tries to scream, the terror stuck in his throat…the darkness all around him…the stench, he can smell the creature from hell, the low growl from its throat…flailing around him with his fists…can’t see, the darkness wrapped around him like a blanket…must defend myself, oh my God the fangs.
Africa, a land of myth, witchcraft, magic and corruption. A land where death waits in the shadows. A land where the hybrid now walks unafraid with a blood lust and a hatred for man …created to kill.
Man playing at being God, working with genetic creation, determined to create the perfect Human being…in isolation nothing can disturb the creation…nothing can go wrong but if you are in Darkest Africa, no one can hear you scream as you die by the hand of a creature not created by God, but by the sick mind of man…a creature from hell.
Two creatures now walk the African bush…one, a gentle soul breed from the womb of a chimpanzee…the other…a killer, a cross gorilla/mandrill baboon.
The hunt is on to bring an end to the madness, to the fear that stalks through the undergrowth, that is spreading its wings over Africa, to put an end to the killers rampage, to capture the gentle Hybrid…to sell her body to the highest bidder.
One man driven by greed…the other by compassion.

Leave me a message and I will supply you with a coupon code.

Thank You. Fangs of Fury by Paul Zunckel

Up-Date

I would just like to advise all my friends plus readers that my books have been withdrawn from all suppliers due to a hic-cup with my ex-publisher but never fear, there are Whispers in the Wind that this will not be for long and hopefully very soon my latest novel, "Shadow of the Leopard" will be released as well as my previous novels as a second edition, so as they say, when one door closes, another one opens.
Never give up on your dreams, no matter how many stumbling blocks are in your path.
Take Care and stay safe, you never know what is watching from the shadows.

A Rock & A Hard Place

Hi There Everyone,
Glad you took the time out to join me…Thank you.
Right, where am I right now it feels as if I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have just finished my latest Piet van Zyl Adventure, but the covers are not yet ready to come off so we will say no more about that just yet.
There is still a heck of a lot of work to do, edit, proof read, edit, proof read, re-write before it even is ready to be sent on to my awesome publishers, Vanilla Heart Publishing…and then it is that wait until you get the thumbs up or down from them…now that really make me feel like a cat on a hot tin roof…the waiting.
The reason why I feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place is that I have been told to re-charge the batteries before I sit down and attack the key board again…but I’m chomping at the bit like a race horse wanting to get going.
So many ideas just running around in my head…so many books to write, so little time.
My latest release from Vanilla Heart Publishing has been “Into the Darkness” and here is a small taste for you to sample.
***
The unconscious man slides down the steep embankment, his head striking a rock on his way to the bottom, opening up a cut above his right eye, until he finally comes to rest at the bottom, the brush covering his limp form, the only sign of life is the steady rise and fall of his chest.
“Sleep well van Zyl...that is if you ever regain consciousness you prick...I spit on you, and wish you well in the afterlife.”
The sound of the departing truck fades, and the songs of the people of the bush echo through the night. The moon climbs to its zenith in the night sky and a chill settles on the ground...movement in the gully...a Mozambican Spitting Cobra, 1.2m in length moves towards the still form of the man, and slowly slips under his body, seeking the warmth that the man offers from the chill of the night.
The man groans as consciousness slowly returns, and pain lances through his head, his body shifts slightly causing his sleeping companion to move under him. The snake is warm and sluggish and feels no threat from its choice of bed partner, as it pulls its 1.2m coils tighter under the man, drawing the heat from the body above it.
Piet slowly opens his eyes, darkness all around, not knowing where he is and having no memory of how he got there, he lies in the darkness trying to bring up memories. Something deep inside him is telling him not to move for there is danger nearby; he feels the body of the snake under him, and something he is not use to clutches at his heart, the cold fingers of fear, and in the chill of the night, Piet van Zyl starts to sweat.
***
Not a great situation to find yourself in…will Piet get out of this one? The only way to find out is to read the book because I am sworn to secrecy.
For those of you out there that would like to read my books in Afrikaans…they are there waiting for you and my “Sound of Thunder” is available in Italian, so go ahead and give one a try. I must warn you that I have received varies complaints regarding the books from readers, and I just love it…feedback like this is AWESOME.
(1) “I have to tell you that I got so caught up in your Blood Demon that the time just slipped past and I ended up missing my favorite TV program.”
(2) I thought a great cup of coffee along with a good read would be the ideal way to spend the afternoon. My coffee got cold, I forgot all about it. Thank you.”
(3) “Into the Darkness really captivated me…in fact I forgot to eat.”
There you have it, Thank you for joining me and remember to take care, you never know what is watching from the shadows.
Sleep Tight.

Fact Vs Fiction

Hi Everyone,
I know that I have not posted for awhile, but I have been very busy doing research for my next novel, and with this one I can allow my imagination to run riot but I have to make sure that my facts are correct as the subject I am building into my latest novel around is a bit of a prickly issue...in fact the people involved in where I am going are not even prepared to talk to me about it, so I have had to rely on my dark side, what information I can gather from newspapers, magazines and websites. It is going to be a work of fiction...in fact all my novels are a work of fiction...but I do use facts to build up the story.
Now, let’s talk about fiction and facts.

I found a review on Amazon from a reader who kindly bought the e-book of “The Devil in Eden” which was great but I only got a three star review from them...why you might ask...because my book was a work of fiction. Surely a reader can see when they are looking at a book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo etc that the novel they are about to buy is listed as a work of fiction. If I had stated that “The Devil in Eden” was based on fact, I would have been given a five star review. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, this reader really has no idea how much of this novel was based on fact...well we will just keep him guessing.

The other fact that affected my rating in the review was my use of AFRIKAANS. Now I ask you, if I had used FRENCH, LATIN, GERMAN as some very well know authors tend to do without the translation, would the outcome have been different. My main character Piet just happens to be Afrikaans and colours his dialog with a touch of Afrikaans. I read novels that have Latin, French and other languages that pop up...I do not speak these languages...I do not understand them, but I get the drift.

After all it is the publisher’s prerogative to remove or keep a foreign translation from a novel...maybe I should have used Shona or Zulu or even Xhosa but the problem was..how do I get the clicks in there.

I thank you kind sir for taking the time and effort to post your review and your rating, and apologise for not listing my novel as fact, but my imagination has to take the credit...the man-eater is fact. The fact that man is encroaching into the habitat of the lion is fact, the fact that this is going to bring humans into more direct contact with the King of the Jungle is fact, man is the easiest prey and softest to hunt is fact, the superstitions of the locals is fact but please leave a little room for my imagination.

Please be warned...in my WIP...I use Portuguese as well as Afrikaans.

Just a little hint for all of you out there...most of my work involving Piet van Zyl is based on fact with a touch of my imagination running wild, but for those of you who do want factual stories...they are out there...look for them, and those who want to be entertained...well look no further, read my books, they will entertain and captivate you.

All my books, which are works of fiction with just a touch of facts can be found in all the e-book formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Kobo and iApple and for those of you who are not sure which is fact and which is fiction...here is the list.
(1) Blood Moon over Africa Fiction well most of it...you decide.
(2) Blood Spoor in the Dark Fact turned into Fiction...how much is Fact...you decide.
(3) Blood Demon-Revenge Fiction with a touch of Facts...the rest my imagination.
(4) The Devil in Eden Fiction mixed in with Facts...The lion does hunt in the dark.
(5) Mask of Deceit Fiction...I promise. Blame my dark side for that.

Right, I have had my say for today, Time for me to go out and gather the FACTS...so that I can turn them into FICTION for your enjoyment and reading pleasure...after all that’s what reading a novel is all about, but remember if you are looking for FACT...read History books, don’t read mine, they are all FICTION.

Take Care out there and stay safe...remember you never know what is watching from the shadows...AND THAT IS A FACT.

HAMBA KAHLE ...That means...Go Well...Oh it is Zulu.

Something to Tantalize You

Step into the darkness of Africa with me...Don’t be afraid...after all, it is just my imagination.
Or is it?
Blood Moon over Africa...Breaking News...NOW IN AFRIKAANS IN E-BOOK FORMAT.
A growl shatters the stillness around them, and into the moonlight walks a creature that only nightmares are made off, Veronica stiffens as she sees what has invaded the yard, she feels Pastor Steve jerk next to her, and from Peggy comes a gasp of utter disbelief, that carries across the space between them and the creature, Philip buries his head in his hands at the sight of it.

Standing in the moon light, looking directly at the chicken houses, seeming to look right at them is a man, a man with the head of a hyena, it growls low in its throat, and slowly starts to make its way across the yard towards the chicken houses, its eyes glowing and it snarls, exposing wicked fangs. The breeze picks up, and the creature halts, lifts its head to the night air, looks again in the direction of the chicken houses, turns in the direction of the mule, and shatters the night with a howl, before making off into the bush in the direction of the terror stricken cry that fills the night.

Blood Spoor in the Dark
The figure starts to claw at Lam’s face like a leopard, but rather than claws raking the body, Piet catches the glint of steel claws in the moonlight. The killer had returned to complete the cult ritual of sacrifice.
Piet, clutching his .38 moves out from the cover of the forest and advances towards the Leopard Man. All his anger at the atrocities that have been committed by these things against innocent people starts to boil over.
“Hey you sick fuck, I’ve got something here for you.”
The Leopard Man looks up at Piet, from his crouched position over Lam’s body, and snarls at Piet as if he were truly a big cat, then he springs towards Piet, his steel claws seeking the big man’s throat.
Piet side steps the man’s charge, and as the Leopard Man’s momentum carries him past Piet, Piet’s size 10 boots catches the man in the small of the back, sending him crashing to the ground. Snarling and spitting like the leopard.
Piet looks down at the man, and places a heavy foot behind his neck, pinning him to the ground.
The Leopard Man squirms beneath the weight of Piet’s foot, and growls out a warning.
“You whites are fools, you cannot kill us for our magic is too strong, you do not realise our power.”
Piet drops onto the back of the struggling man. Pinning him down with his full weight, the barrel of his .38 pressed against the back of the man’s head.
“It’s all mind over matter you sick fuck, I don’t mind, and you don’t matter.”
The report from the .38 in Piet’s hand echoes over the forest, and the face of the Leopard Man disintegrates from the force of the bullet.
“Ja, now go tell the people your fucking muti works.”

Blood Demon-Revenge
The interior of the warehouse is gloomy, with only the lunar light from the moon breaking through the skylight windows and the scattering of black candles that burn at intervals along the path leading up towards the front of the building where a crude altar has been erected.
Around the warehouse are people huddled together waiting for the arrival of the Lion Man, and to worship the demons of the dark in an orgy of blood.
The frightened whimpers of a young boy carry across the silence as they wait for their master to arrive. The parents of the child have bound his hands and feet, for has not great glory been bestowed upon them by his being chosen by the great master as the one to feel the power of the claws. His innocent blood is to be spilt to enable the master to speak to the ones from the dark side.
Movement from the front of the warehouse brings silence down on all that are gathered, and then before them, held by a chain appears a lioness. The chain is padlocked to a steel bolt in the floor and the handlers move off to join those already waiting.
The low growls from the big cat fill the area, and then she lies down to wait, for she has been here before, and knows that before tonight is over, she will feed.
A figure appears before the assembled crowd, and a murmur ripples through them. The Lion Man now stands before them.
Amos, now naked except for the skin of a lion, draped over his body, the head of the beast placed over his head looks out at the people below him. The steel claws attached to his hands glint in the light from the candles.
His voice reverberates across the silent warehouse.
“Who brings the chosen sacrifice; stand so that I may see you.”
The couple stands with their bound son between them.
“Bring the boy forward so that we may please the elders, and they will open the doorway to the underworld.”

The Devil in Eden.
The village is made up of thatch and mud huts. Half naked children run around in the dirt playing, while chickens scatter in front of them. The women busy themselves around the cooking fires, while the men folk sit under the great tree smoking, and drinking homemade beer.
On the horizon, the massive storm clouds gather, the wind whipping the corn fields into frenzy and sending up dust devils into the darkening sky. The villagers hurry to the shelter of their huts, and huddle together to wait for the storm to pass.
The night is dark as the thunder rolls across the sky, flashes of lightning turn night to day and the heavy rain pelts down through the canopy of trees as the killer moves silently towards the village.
No-one will hear the screams tonight as the thunder drums out across the sky, and the killer moves steadily through the forest in the direction of the sleeping village. He pauses as he breaks through the thick foliage that surrounds the village.
Slowly he surveys the area, his eye moves over the mud huts, he smells the wood fires that burn inside, and hears the sound of people sleeping as he steadily moves across the muddy open area towards a hut closest to the edge of the forest.
He pauses at the door to the hut, his sense of smell tells him that the people inside are sickly and weak. He tries the door, but it is wedged shut firmly from the inside, so he moves around to the back of the hut, and standing, tests the mud walls.
He applies his weight, and the wall starts to crumble. Terrified voices ring out from within, that the Devil is here, and the sound of their fear drives him on, and with a lunge the killer enters the dark interior of the hut.
Now for something totally different...leave Africa behind and join the Masked Carnival in Venice...Meet Juliana, a young woman who has everything to live for...or does she?
Mask of Deceit
The eyes looking out from behind the mask are green, but that is all the man can see for her form is hidden in the folds of the flowing gown that she is wearing. The mask itself is stunning, handcrafted and if she is anything like the beauty of the mask, then she is definitely a catch.
Her voice is husky and sexy at the same time; it sends shivers of delight at the thought of what is to come through his body, as she takes his hand in her gloved hand and leads him along the cobblestone walkway, almost as if leading a lamb to the slaughter.
The sounds of the masked ball not far away filters across the square, laughter fills the air as revellers soak up the atmosphere, the colours are bright, and there is a feel of gay abandonment as couples, groups move to and fro, their masks hiding their true features, and their costumes blend in with the crowds that swarm along the roads.
She leads him along the canal, the sounds from the square falling behind them as they cross the bridge, and he can’t believe his luck on his first night in Venice, to be chosen by such a beauty, and he tries to imagine what she looks like behind that mask.
They come to an alleyway and she pauses for a second, looks into the dark recess of the alley, then turning quickly, takes his hand again and leads him on. He could have sworn that he heard her mutter softly into her mask.
“This one is for you Paul, my darling.”
“My Lady, did you say something?”
“No, I am just thinking about what is ahead of us tonight, you must have imagined it.”
She leads him into a room with a four poster bed in the centre, the light is dim and in the distance he can hear the sound of music, and her heavy breathing, which he takes as passion, and a sign that he is in for a good time tonight with a masked stranger.
The sound of falling cloth behind him, he turns and gasps at the beauty before him. She is naked, but still wears the mask, and he feels the heat rush through his body, and desire for the masked stranger before him fills him, and he sheds his clothing.
“Do you like what you see Sir?”
“Yes My Lady, you are magnificent, but I wish to gaze upon your face, please remove your mask so that I might drink in your true beauty.”
“I am sorry, you may have me, but the mask stays on. Lie down, and I will come to you.”
He lies back onto the soft mattress, and she straddles him, moving up his chest and offering herself to him. His eyes close in ecstasy, and he feels her take his hand, and the soft feel of silk wraps around his wrist, then the other, and he is bound to the posts of the bed. His eyes fly open in alarm. He sees her sitting on his chest, her weight holding him down, and in her hand, she is holding a dagger, and he hears sobs coming from behind the mask.
“My Lady, what are you doing?”
Without a word she brings the dagger down, the dim light flashes off the blade as it cuts deep into his chest. His body arches as he tries to throw her off, he pulls at the silk holding his hands in place, but she rides him, gripping his body with her strong legs, and plunges the blade in again and again, the blood splatter being thrown across the whiteness of the bed.
His body shudders in its final gasp to hold onto life, and then with a death rattle in his throat, she slashes the sharp blade deeply across his throat, his body goes limp beneath her, the air in his lungs escaping through the deep wounds, as his blood soaks into the bed cover, dripping off the bed, to form a puddle on the carpet.
“There Paul my darling, I showed mercy, just like you taught me, I cut the throat of the animal.”
Without another word, she pulls the gown over her head, covering the blood on her body, slips the dagger into the folds of her dress, and without looking back at the dead man on the bed, leaves him, to be discovered when the occupants of the room returned.
She mingles once more with the groups, just another mask in the crowd.

If those teasers caught your attention, and you would like to sit back and enjoy a journey into the darkness, you can find them all on my Authors Page @ http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00Q8L4NZ8 or find them right here on Goodreads.

Teasers & Links

The night is silent as they stare out into the darkness that surrounds them, only to be broken by the stab of light from the torch as Adele moves it from right to left and back again, searching for the source of the dogs anger, and for the thing that scaled the fence.

The silence is suddenly broken by the haunting sound of a howl; Adele plays the light towards the source, only to discover their dog, on his haunches howling at the moon.
The answering howl that comes from the darkness makes their hair stand on end.

Through the thick foliage the figure sees the glow of a fire in the distance, and hurries forward, eager to join the others. He breaks through into a clearing, where gathered around a fire are nine men, all rise to greet him as he makes his way forward.
“You have brought the liquid as requested.”
“Yes, I have it here with me.”
“Then, complete the ritual, drink the blood of your victim, show us that you would be one of us, swear your allegiance to the brotherhood.”
He stands in the glow of the fire, the bottle clutched in his hand. He raises it to his lips and drinks deeply, feeling the thick liquid running down his throat, and dripping onto his naked belly. He stands tall and proud.
“It is now done; I have tasted the life blood of man, and am now ready to take my place with my brothers.”

The smell of death and decay fills their nostrils, and warns them that the creature is near. Piet swings around as the creature bursts from the brush, a howl breaking from it throat as it rushes across the clearing towards them.
All three fire as one, the bullets hitting the creature, sending it tumbling into the dirt.
“Shit, he has set it lose, let’s get back to the camp. Move ladies as if your life depends on it.”
“Piet, you idiot, our life does depend on it.”
The demon rises from the dirt, only to be brought down again as Piet fires at it. He turns and follows Veronica and Peggy running up ahead.
A figure bursts from the bush along side where the two women are running, clutching at Veronica, but she turns, and brings her revolver down hard on its head. Amos is sent thudding to the ground.
The demons laugh follows them as they run towards “Devils Pool.”
“You cattle can run, but you cannot hide. For I will feed on your flesh before the day is done.”

At the sound of a human voice, the lion raises its head, spins around, and with flattened ears and bared teeth comes like a bullet straight at David.
Despite his size, Piet moves with the agility of a cat and moves in front of David, to take the lions charge, and at the same time fires two shots into the charging killer, who is now in full charge and although both bullets hit the big cat, it did not halt him, and instead the 400 pounds of man-eater knocks Piet head over heels, sending his rifle spinning from his grasp.

In The Jungle

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight...Who is kidding who? In the jungle, the might jungle the lion hunts at night and soon to be released by Vanilla Heart Publishing is The Devil in Eden, Book 1 in the Piet van Zyl Adventure Thrillers. Allow me to introduce you to the awesome Introduction, and to the book that will soon be available in all e-book formats...so ask yourself...are you ready to have a look at Eden...but be warned...you just might not like it after dark.
Man-eater...the one statement that is capable of spreading fear like a wildfire through a community, and why...well a Man-eater is the animal version of a serial killer...an animal that has developed a taste for human flesh, an animal that has no fear of man, an animal that sees man as the perfect prey...why...because man is the easiest prey of all, and due to the encroachment of human settlements into their natural habitat, there is plenty to go around.
The only way to end a man-eaters reign of terror is to hunt him down.
I use the male term - for a male lion will take to hunting man a lot easier than the female. The lion is an opportunist, and the male always takes the easiest route.
Many man-eaters are wounded or old; some have been deprived of natural prey sources, and have simply developed a fondness for human flesh, and the easy hunt.
Most man-eaters are nameless, but in our story the locals are calling him, “Devil” much like the one that hunted near Kasawa, they called him “The Cunning One,” who was responsible for 43 deaths before he was shot. Another one that was doing the rounds in Tanzania was called “Paper Lion,” because he seemed to drift from victim to victim, like a scrap of paper floating in the wind.
Early in 1909 there was one large male who was almost a celebrity called Chiengi Charlie, he teamed up with two other males and spread their eating habits over several villages, reportedly eating 90 people. This particular man-eater was clever and eluded all manner of traps and hunters, until he was finally shot in a gun trap.
Most man-eaters will take their human prey as they find them, in the fields, at the river bank collecting water or the bolder ones will act in much the same way as the “Devil” does, and clawed through the sides of the mud hut, or enters the hut through the thatch roof.
There was one in Rufiji, Tanzania called Osama, named after Osama bin Laden because of his terrorist attacks, and the locals in the area put up a billboard for this man-eater depicting his bloody deeds. He terrorized the area from 2002 to 2004 and was accused of killing more than 50 people. He was shot by game scouts in April 2004 and found to have a large abscess on one of his molars, but plenty of man-eaters have perfect teeth.
Msoro Monty; hunted in the Luangwa River Valley during 1929 and was stalking his victims near the Msoro Mission which is how he got his name. This man-eater had a gift for smelling out traps and after killing a large number of people, he just disappeared. He could have been an old animal and simply died, but no trace of him was ever found.
There was another in the Luangwa River Valley in 1991, near where Monty hunted who took out 6 people, he was called The Lion of Mfuwe and was finally killed by a visiting hunter from the U.S.A. who waited in a blind for 20 nights for the Man-Eater to show up. This lion was not small as he measured over 10 feet long and was totally mane-less.
The man-eaters of Tsavo, called Ghost and Darkness not only killed to feed, but killed for the pure pleasure it gave them, something like 140 people killed during that period, but the experts reckon, only about 35 people eaten, until they too were hunted down and shot. These two had no fear of man, as some attacks were recorded taking place in daylight, in full view of the labourers working on the railway lines.
Another record of man-eating by lions happened in Tanzania between 1932 and 1947, and this time it was not just one hunting humans, but a whole pride. They called them the Man-Eaters of Njombe, and this pride did their killing in the afternoon, using the night hours to travel as far as 15 or 20 miles to an unsuspecting village, and it is believed that they used a relay system to drag bodies into the safety of the bush. Before they were hunted down and shot, it is estimated that they were responsible for as many as 1500 kills.
We still have man-eaters today, and the Kruger National Park which borders Mozambique, have lion that feed on the people who cross the borders into South Africa. These animals sometimes patrol the roads at night waiting for the unsuspecting illegal immigrants to arrive. Most of these deaths go unreported, but rangers have found remains.
The man-eater will always be something that nightmares are made of, only it is not something that goes bump in the night, a figment of an imagination, but something that is very real.
I would like to share a pre-release review with you related to The Devil in Eden.
PRE-RELEASE REVIEW
A real African Thriller!
“I’d read Paul Zunckel’s Blood Moon Trilogy and was very happy to receive the ARC for The Devil in Eden from the publisher. The Devil in Eden adds to the incredible suspense and African cultural interests in those three books, with a ‘devilish’ plotline of African animals, the workings of cultural fears, and a fantastic setting of the varied sceneries of African life. Great job, Paul! I am looking forward to all the next in this series! ”
Frank Herndon
Well you have been warned...there is a killer on the loose, and he hunts at night...are you ready for The Devil in Eden.

Darkest Africa

To write or not to write, that is the question, and the same applies to my blog...what I need is inspiration and guess what, I got it from Darkest Africa, and I mean that literally, we experienced one of the longest blackout that we have had, and blackouts are no stranger in this part of the world, although our power supplier refers to it as controlled power outages...the truth be told, everything is falling apart and they just cannot meet the demand, due to lots of things, like mis-management, non-maintenance, etc...Anyway I am getting off the subject...we were in the dark for just over twenty five hours with no power and I realised just how dependant we are on electricity. Cooking was not a problem; making coffee was not a problem as we just made a fire and did what we needed to do, the problem with no power was that the mobile phones could not be charged, the laptop battery only held a charge for so long, the food in the freezer was at risk, plus for over twenty four hours we had no idea what was going on in the world.
Imagine an author in this day and age not having something like the Internet, unable to get his or her work to the publisher, unable to promote their work on the social networks, unable to stay in contact with the very people who matter, the reader, the publisher, editor...the list just goes on and on and now imagine how it was done before the Internet became such a big part of our lives.
I was hog-tied during the blackout, unable to do anything, except follow Piet’s advise and “Maak ń Plan,” which I did...I made a fire in the rain, got wet, but the family had hot coffee, plus a hot meal done over the coals, and we used candles that night. In fact it was awesome living in Darkest Africa, just the right atmosphere that I needed for inspiration, and so another Piet van Zyl tale started to unfold in the dark of the night, only problem was, my Laptop was not charged, but now we are up and running once again, thank you to our service provider finally getting things right.
If you have not yet read the three books that make up The Blood Trilogy, I would suggest you take a chance and try Book One, Blood Moon over Africa, see where it takes you. You can find it at www.vhpbooktours.com with all the e-book links that you need, then when you are hooked, move along to Book Two, Blood Spoor in the Dark, and finally complete the circle by climbing into Book Three, Blood Demon-Revenge.
Thank you for visiting, and I wish you a very pleasant day...Take care out there and remember, there is a lot more coming out of Darkest Africa...that is when the lights are on.
