Chillin' when it's hot
I like to read Nordic Noir in the summer to remind myself that it's not hot everywhere. I should correct that statement. I was in Boston and Western Massachusetts last week and it was hot, humid and smoky from the fires in the midwest and Canada.
If you want to chill out, pick up MURDER ON JAMAICA POND, a Massachusetts Cozy Mystery where Amanda discovers a body partially in the ice while at a skating party.
I grew up in the New York area and my experience with skating was not as exciting. It was always outdoor rinks at that time, so not smoothed out by Zamboni machines. In fact, it was quite bumpy from repeated partial thaws and re-freezes. As a result, the notion of zooming along the ice and doing jumps and axels has always fascinated me.
I'm trying to post once a week, so come back for more musings! Andrea

Amanda has come a long way

Expectations from her family are that she dabble in volunteer work, socialize with her friends and find a husband.
Little do they or she know that she's about to begin her sleuthing career.
Since we're now in book #17, in the coming weeks I'm going to highlight some of the past stories and adventures that Amanda has had.
Today: MURDER IN CITY HALL # 3 in the series finds Amanda taking an assignment for the Mayor that soon finds her trying to sort through the puzzling clues of a murder in the building. Massachusetts Cozy Mystery updates
It's been a busy spring and summer for me as I wrote MURDER IN THE BOSTON PUBLIC GARDEN

I'll be going to Boston next month for my annual visit with long time friends andI'll be sure to check out the swan boats.
I didn't know the swan boats had been there so long! That's a fun aspect of writing historical cozy mysteries - doing the research and finding old photos.
