Adrik Kemp is an accomplished author, lyricist and screenwriter.

Adrik has two erotic vampire novellas with Pride Publishing with very interesting vampiric lore (and a lot of raunch), Blood of the Land and Blood of the City.

Adrik’s short stories have been published all over the world, in places such as Aurealis Magazine, OUTStanding & Transmundane Press. They range from queer, horror, speculative fiction and fantasy and science fiction.

His screenplays have been shortlisted for Project Greenlight Australia and pitched to markets in Australia and the United States (with Apocryphal Pictures).

Adrik also writes lyrics with his spouse, the fantastic singer Carl De Villa.

The preface explains these are Butler’s early works before she ‘found herself’ and while that is true and you can see future echoes of later works within both stories, they are still captivating as all her work.

I liked how this felt like a graphic novel in prose, very cinematic at times as well. I was moved by one shot characters and the exploration of grief particularly with Stonier and his token. But there was so much left unanswered at the end that made ...more

It read like an obscure Arthouse film you might have seen at a festival a few years ago. A lot of build up and no real payoffs or climax just a petering out.

An incredibly unlikeable narrator, and yet I wanted to see what ill informed decision she would make next. I wanted slightly more clarity on how and what happened next but also intriguing to imagine.
