That's how old I was when I realized I wanted to be a writer. I loved books. Mom read to me nearly every night. Sometimes I still want her to read to me (and pay my bills). But even as a wee little Mallory, I had plenty of stories to tell. Some people called them "lies" but, eh, tuh-may-toe, tah-mah-toe.

My first character was called Wonder Cat. His wife would frequently ask him to pick up milk and tuna on his way home from fighting crime. Naturally, he lived on an island shaped like his face. The world of Wonder Cat snowballed from there. The story took up all of my time, including class time (my fifth grade teachers were not amused). I started dreaming storylines.
