I'm going to the Cymera festival this weekend. It's in Edinburgh and promises to be a really great weekend. It's the first of its kind and I'm hoping there'll be many more to follow. If you're going, come and say hi!

Wow. It's been a while since I've posted here. Almost a year in fact. Something of a shit year for me if I'm honest. However, 2018 and the start of 2019 have included some cool things too, so let's focus on them in chronological order*.

A long time ago** I embarked on reading a 10 book epic fantasy stories by the fantastic Adrian Tchaikovsky. It had fantasy races based on insects, a really cool way of playing with magic and technology, and it evolve...

I'm all over the place in May. Specifically:

Which describes itself as a small, relaxed literary English-language science fiction convention in the middle of the Baltic sea. Can't wait!

In a special panel and signing alongside fellow fantasy authors Jo Hall, Lucy Hounsom, and Brian McCellan. Moderated by Micha Yonga. Starts at 12 at the Hatchet Inn. All bookish things handled by the lovely Book on the Hill.

A few cool things to check out here. First one is the cover of the new WILDCARDS book set in the UK: KNAVES OVER QUEENS. Cover is done by the fab Mike Topping of Harper Collins.
