Loretta Ross’s latest book, Calling In: How to Start Making Change with Those You’d Rather See Cancelled, has just been published and I was excited to get to read an advance copy. In this book she provides practical advice for how we can work with people to create positive social change, even if we disagree on many other factors. This book could not be timelier and more relevant to our challenges ahead as we work to protect the social safety net and the most vulnerable populations in the United States and beyond. As a sociology professor, I am always seeking ways to communicate "across the aisle" with students of all backgrounds.
