To which her mother replied, "Make up a story in your head." This was weird and not an awful story, but it needs some editing. Not only is the writing repetitive, but there are words that are missing and plenty of misspellings.

This was my first John Grisham novel, and while I really enjoyed the characters and the narration, the plot (for me, anyway) was lacking. And I’m not even a plot girl!
