For the past few months I've been working on a contemporary romance set in Aspen. It's a nice change of pace to write about characters with modern problems, and I'm really enjoying the intimacy of writing in the first person. However, just this past week one of my characters from the Valencourt series popped into my head and demanded I write her story. I had planned to do it in the future, but it's unwise to ignore the muse when chapter after chapter just comes to you. There's a good chance the scenes won't be there if I put them off for another time. So it's back to the Gilded Age for me for now. Jacqueline Valencourt's story should be done in the next few months if the words continue to flow. She's my most boldest heroine yet and not at all intimidated by my proper English duke hero so I'm having fun with it.
