I was delighted this week to sign up with Cassian Hall at
DHH Literary Agency to represent my writing globally. DHH are a well-regarded smaller agency, and seem like an excellent choice for a new author like me.
I also attended this week at Harvard Club of the UK event on "Earning a Living in the Writing Business". Along with two successful authors, my friend
Mildred Yuan of United Agents was on the panel. Mildred emphasised how difficult it is in the current publishing environment for publishers and agents to make money off new authors, leading to a focus on writers who are either (a) established or (b) already famous for something else. I feel fortunate to have found an agency that is willing to take a risk on my work -- hopefully we will prove together that this was an excellent decision.
