Happy Spring!!!
I have not written much lately but a couple of things happened recently that have given me cause for reflection.
This weekend I assisted with the care of an elderly woman. During our time together we discussed her life, things she had done and things she missed doing. While she has had a relatively happy life, she confided in me that there were risks she wished she had taken, places she had longed to go that she will not see etc. I spend 24 hours attending to her care doing reiki and reflexology in addition to the basics.
I left her Monday morning stopping at a hotel to freshen up and change before going directly to the funeral of a man I respected and admired. A salon industry mentor and friend who lost his battle with cancer just days before his 64th birthday. Leaving behind a son not yet out of high school.
Both of these events caused me to pause, and to be grateful for my very interesting if sometimes rocky life. I feel so blessed to have been able to be with my beauty industry friends and to have brightened the day of an elder.
I am also inspired to be my best self, live my best life, bring my creativity forward - in my work as a hairdresser, and artist and as a single mom of an amazing young woman.
I am refocused on what I am here to Be and to Do.
I am here to BE an Artist in whatever form that takes and I am here to DO beautiful , heart centered work.
Happy Spring
Love,
Cindy
