How do I review FOOLPROOF without spoilers? There’s so much going on. Darcy and her sidekicks, Dylan included, begin senior year of high school, and the hijinks start on the very first day. Not only is there a fresh murder to solve, but nagging details about Buffalo Trails Country Club, a stalker, drug dealers, and a cafeteria pilferer come to light as well. Darcy is a dead-body magnet, let’s just say that.
FOOLPROOF is filled with humor throughout, Darcy irreverent as usual as she weaves through a twisted labyrinth of “who’s on first,” putting on her “Sherlock Holmes” and enlisting aid from her shady informant, Jaws. Aside from a speed-dating fiasco Darcy attends (just for moral support, as we know she’s with hottie, Dylan) she also faces life’s daunting choices about her post high-school world, working her in-your-face magic behind the scenes on Dylan’s behalf for the well-being of his future while pondering her own.
FOOLPROOF was entertaining, funny, and heartwarming.
