Audrey Hepburn and Shirley McClaine in The Children's Hour (1961)
I'll be presenting the History Zone on BBC Radio Scotland on Wednesday 9th March from 00.30am. History loving nightbirds can tune into five hours of programmes on 19th Century Scottish events and personalities from the BBC Radio Scotland archives. Subjects covered will include the Dundee Ripper, the Gloup Disaster, the stories behind the Lock Hospital and young writer Marjorie Fleming. Two programmes I presented will also be repeated, Case Reopened – the Woods Pirie trial (which inspired the 1962 film The Children's Hour) and an episode of the Highland Lowland Divide. If you'd rather go to bed, or would like to be selective in which programmes you listen to, you can listen again up to a week after the broadcast.
