A brilliant effort by Dennis Lehane, The Drop gets top marks from me. Tightly plotted, it was a breeze to get through, with not a single sentence more than necessary. The ending - the conversation between Bob and the Detective - surprised me. You wondered all along what the Detective had sussed out about Bob, and at the end you realise just what that is. Great stuff! Highly recommended . . .
