The Day Before

No, that's not the title of a new novel I'm working on. Today is the day before my novel Nightcry is released. So what am I doing on this day before?

Well, being nervous for one. This is my first novel released into the wild and while I AM excited, I'm also feeling the pangs of "oh no, should I release it?" and "maybe I should wait a week" and "I hope one person likes it." I can probably count on my mom to like it.

I'm also relaxing on the day before. I've pushed out the promotion like crazy the past few weeks, continuously updated the website, networked with what seemed like a million people and think I've done everything I can to get the word out. Could I do more on this, the day before? Sure I could, but I'm using a tip I got when I started playing tournament chess (yes, I just said tournament chess): do not study chess or think about chess at all the day before a tournament. So, just like I let the tournament happen, I'm just going to let the release happen.

I have another novel calling my name and I think it feels neglected since Nightcry has been getting most of my attention lately.

Sorry, new novel, here I come.
