This past Saturday I had my first Authors' Event at a library. A few fellow writer friends were also there and it was fun to see them and interact with other writers.

While I only sold and signed one book, I got to sit next to a cool crime fiction guy who co-wrote a novel with Richard Belzer; meet a funny paranormal teen writer, and chat with my writer friends that talked me into going to the event. The event was not in my neighborhood and even though that Saturday afternoon seemed geared towards kids and teens, I had a wonderful time. Success that day wasn't how many books I sold and autographed, it was for networking and enjoying being in the company of those who pour their sweat onto the pages like I do.

My next event is next month and even though it IS in my neighborhood, I am taking the same attitude to that place.
