What are You Saying
Ah, family, and friends, got to love them even though they sometimes can drive a person batty. I've had several of them recently say the same thing to me and that is what spurred this little blog post, so here I go.
Most people feel that they are putting out positive vibrations to the Universe, yet, still don't know or understand why they haven't received their raise/money, promotion, new place to live, love, etc. I have a couple of friends and family members who are very spiritual, doing their daily prayers and affirmations, waiting for the good stuff to come. They view themselves as always being positive, yet some of my recent conversations with them let them know where their thoughts were really focused. Staying positive is not easy, but it does get easier if you check your thoughts. Trust me, I check mine often throughout the day.
Take one of my family members for instance, a young mother with three small children, struggling to make ends meet. I stopped by her apartment to drop off some promised items. My intention was to drop off the items, leave some instructions for their use and head home to continue working on my third book. The reality was, after asking her how things were going, her remarks led me to pause and have a longer conversation with her. I heard how broke she was, how she couldn't find a job, how her car was falling apart, how nobody would hire her right now, etc., etc., etc. I finally held my hand up to stop her, so I could get a word in. We're a pretty chatty family and sometimes it's hard for us to get out what we want to say when the other person is chatting away. Yes, I'm guilty of it too.
Once I got her attention I said, "You're never going to get out of this hole if you don't change the way you think." I asked her what is the purpose of her prayers to find a good paying job if she continues to think she can't find one and no one wants to hire her. I explained to her that in this instance she needs to have complete faith that her prayers are heard and are being answered even as we speak. That her guardian angels, deity, God or whatever you want to call the Higher Spirit is lighting her pathway and making connections happen for her to be able to find the right job for her.
I also pointed out that she will never have money if she continues to say she's so broke and has to wait for money to come in from this agency or that place. I told her she needed to change her thoughts on that right away. I don't know about you, but I fully believe my faith has helped me in my life struggles. When I needed money and prayed, I had total faith that somehow the money would arrive, and it always did - exactly when I needed it. Sometimes it wasn't even in the form of money, it would come in the form of someone being able to fix my tire/car or bring dinner, etc. It seemed like whatever we needed was always supplied.
I explained to her that her words, and lack of staying focused on what she wanted, was undoing her prayers and keeping her good from arriving. When you pray, you must have faith behind the prayer that no matter what you totally believe it's on its way to you now. Stay focused on the belief of receiving your good. If you don't waver and give up, and go back to your "I'm broke" verbiage, then what you have prayed for will surely come to you if it is for your highest good. And yes, I'm still praying to win the lottery too, as I'm sure millions of other people are. I also know someone who does, but doesn't buy tickets. Seriously! Come on, you've got to put a little action behind those prayers.
Pray for a job - please apply for one, two or more. Pray for money - please think of a way to give something (even if you pick a rose from your flower bed and have an idea who needs it). It doesn't have to cost you money that you don't have to be able to give to someone. Pray for happiness - please say something kind to someone and expect kindness in return (that does lead to a lot of happiness). Pray for good health - please do something good for your health. You've got to start somewhere.
Once you show the Universe you are taking action toward that you are wanting to receive, standby and watch your miracle happen.
