Covenant is fiction. It is an imaginary world that I have created to bring together history as memory and history as a researched endeavor. While both approaches to history can be dangerously impotent it is an opportunity for historical writers of fiction to imagine a diverse world of people struggling to realize the principles upon which this country was founded. These principles were not white, black or red, neither was the struggle.
