Detective Mathew has assisted Larson and Garrett through Rolas's murder investigation and even helped them to team up with old comrades to take out the White Wraiths in Xorinth, but now it's time to take the fight to the capitol of Ruvonia, Stormguard, where Owens, Parish, and the White Wraiths are trying to cajole the citizens into worshipping Lagos, the daemon trying to become the new God of Destruction.
To make matters worse, Owens has taken a lover, the princess of Ruvonia, and Parish is hiding his worship of Destruction by preaching about Knowledge.
Our heroes momentarily split up to canvas the immense city, but when they come together, they find one of them has been murdered, and a fight with the cultists spills out into the city streets.
