My 2011 Goodreads Reading Challenge

Okay, I've been on a reading jag of late. That's a positive thing here, right? According to my Goodreads tracker, I've read 44 books of the 65 I projected to finish in 2011. Goodreads also tells me I'm 28% ahead of schedule. Cool.

For the most part, I've enjoyed my reads. I just finished a Scott Turow legal drama. That guy can write. Last night I started the new Walter Mosely. That guy can write, too.

I'm still mulling whether to invest in an e-reader like a Kindle. I did download my Lake Charles to open up as a PC Kindle. It's slick.

My last blog posted on my Reading Challenge brought comments from fellow readers who're on track to get through 200 books for 2011! Wow. I'm awed. I've tried to read faster, but I don't enjoy the story as much. But that's just my analog brain at work.

I believe I'll squeeze in some classics this summer between the beach reads. What are your summer reading plans?

Randy So far this year I've finished 102 books, with several, e-books and paper, currently at various stages. I generally average about five a week.

Marleen 200 books is not an amount I ever expect to reach. I do hope to read more than 100 books this year though. In the past that hasn't been a problem, but because I was doing a course, I didn't read as much as I normally do during the first four months of the year. I'm on book 40 for this year at the moment, so if I want to reach my goal, I'll have to make up for lost time.
