Summers Over

Well, summer is over now and I'm looking back on the past few weeks and seeing all the crap I didn't get done. This summer I spent a lot of time doing things other than writing. Part of it is the fact that I live in Southern California and it's hot as balls down here, so my office is always hot. The other part was that I started playing the first Mass Effect game and that spiraled into all three which was an amazing experience. I love those games. They may have, in fact, changed my life.
But back to the subject of my books.
Shadows is now available in both paperback and in digital format. And the second book is through it's second edit and now getting ready to be printed and sent out for the third edit. Hopefully before Halloween it will be available on Kindle.
Aside from all that.
I've been reading a lot about the author The Martian. Apparently he originally posted the whole story to a blog. Chapter by chapter. As he posted it, people would find the mistakes and email him about about. The internet edited his book for him. Scientists actually emailed him telling him how to correct the science he wrote about.
It's genius.
He understood that it isn't about how much money you do or don't make, and it isn't about your rating on amazon or the New York Times. It's about taking these stories and these characters that are a part of you and getting them out there into the world. Sharing that small piece of who you are, a small piece of your soul with everyone else.
That's what it's all about.
I won't lie, it would be cool to make money too. Especially because my job sucks.
Either way.
I'm thinking I might look into posting chapters here. Maybe on a separate blog, still attached to this email. I think that would be a good way to get the stories out there.
Well work beckons, and I must respond.
Off I go.
