And they overcame by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony and they loved not their lives until the death (Revelation 12:11).

 There are two things that are very important for us to live the victorious life— the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony, or our confession. Joshua 1:8 says, “Keep this book of the Law on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Today’s New International Version).

As you know, there are some well-meaning Bible teachers who believe that God only wants to bless us in the sweet by-and-by. But as the scripture above indicates (as well as many others like it), God has a plan for us to live the overcoming life right now. It is up to us to follow through. He has provided the Word and the power of the blood. We only need to accept His provision and speak His Word. No matter how the situation looks in the natural, we must make certain not to speak words of defeat; we must speak only the Word of God, because according to Mark 11:23, we will have what we say.

Overcoming by the word of your testimony simply means giving voice to your faith. Speaking the Word aloud is a reminder to you that through Christ Jesus you have authority over Satan. Remember, we cannot be lazy Christians and expect to live a life of victory. This means we must find some time to spend with God, meditate and confess His Word, and do whatever else He is requiring of us to do. Also we cannot allow ourselves to become so busy with the cares of this life that we neglect our spiritual lives. No condemnation intended here, but we have to make sure we are taking care of Kingdom business if we want to be overcomers.

Remember, you have the power of the blood, and the Word of God. You are in a position to live a blessed life.
