Good points. I'm reminded of when I read War and Peace, which is about 1450 pages or so. I read at least 700 pages of that sitting on a plane going to China. When you have to read, you will. Maybe I should shy away from my policy of finishing every book.
I used to do that. Then I realised that I'm not getting any younger, and if I spend my time reading books I don't enjoy, I might die before I get through all the good ones... It helped to realise that I can read about 75-100 books a year. Multiply that by average lifespan, and ohmygodnotenoughtimetoreadallthebooks!



But yeah, I've had a couple that have hung on for ages. One I did just abandon, because getting through it was so painful.
Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and either read it or ditch it!
