What is a miracle?
Growing up, I thought miracles were making dead men rise from the tomb and a river separate so chariots could pass through. Well, we don't bury people in caves and we have not more chariots these days, but I see miracles every day.
My son was so sick and healed by Christ in a single moment. That is a miracle. I do healing work on people and see my own hands become that of Christ Jesus, hear HIS voice in my thoughts, and feel HIM hugging those being healed. Those are miracles.
But I also have this other little miracle that began quite slowly, but it was hard to miss once I noticed it. As a school teacher, I have the patience of a saint most days, but as a driver, I tend to just want to GO! So this one week I was working on some house repairs. It was a big job and I was on my own. I had so many runs back and forth to the hardware store and I was pressed for time. I asked God to help me finish the project in time.
I noticed, within that day, that I had gotten all green lights on my way back and forth on the errands. Over the week, I noticed that I NEVER had a red light in our little city of lights on EVERY corner. I thanked God every time I came to one. When I got my first red light on this spree, I thanked God for the time to sit and think. I asked what He wanted me to know. I thought about my family and people I loved. I let my mind go.
Since that "miracle" I rarely get red lights. I feel like it's God's way of saying, "I am right here. I listen. I love you." Ha. So funny to think of that as a miracle, but we have them in our lives every single day. NOTICE the coincidences. Be GRATEFUL for the gifts, big and small. LISTEN to HIM, because He is listening to you.
