Liebster Award | 100th Blog Post

Thank you Kelee Morris for nominating me for the Liebster Award.

Kelee Morris (https://keleemorris.wordpress.com) is a romance author. One of her books is Goddess.

About Kelee Morris

Growing up restless and bored in Terre Haute, Indiana, Kelee Morris first discovered romance when she was swept away by Thomas Hardy’s “Far From A Madding Crowd.” After earning degrees in Comparative Literature and Film, Morris pursued screenwriter, winning numerous awards and coming tantalizingly close to catching Hollywood’s brass ring.

Tired of high concept plots and rigid, three-act structure, Morris awoke one morning with Julia Nelson’s duel life of suburban mother and illicit lover fully formed in her mind. Her first novel Goddess is the result.

Morris now lives in Chicago, where she is rarely bored thanks to her family and too many pets to count.

What is the Liebster Award?

The award is a way to be discovered but also to connect and support the blogging community. A great idea in promoting your own blog and others. Originally it was given out to blogs with less than 2000 readers but this has slowly lowed as the reward has gained popularity. It is now only 200 readers or less.

The Official Rules of the Liebster Award 2016

Back in 2011 the rules were a simple case of acknowledgement of the nominator and to nominate 5 more. Now in 2016 it is a little more involved!

If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:

Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog. Try to include a little promotion for the person who nominated you. They will thank you for it and those who you nominate will also help you out as well.

Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.) At the bottom of this post I’ve included a whole lot of images you can use for your 2016 Liebster Award.

For the 2016 Liebster Award I will be shaking things up! Write a 150-300 word post about your favourite blog that is not your own. Explain why you like the blog, provide links.

Provide 10 random facts about yourself. (This year I’m making this optional. If you wish to engage with your readers it’s a great idea to include random facts about you.)

Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 200 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)

List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here.) Once you have written and published it, you then have to:

Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post or mine if you don’t have all the information so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

Don’t forget to create 11 questions for them to answer. Notify your nominees and provide a link to your post so that they’ll know what to do. Once you’re done, come back here and comment with the link to your post so I can check out your answers.

Questions

1. Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog to create a name for myself as an author. I use it to track my milestones, share tips, and promote my works.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

To be honest, I love where I live. There is no place I would rather live than where I am now. However, I would like to visit Germany, Scotland, and Japan.

3. Are you spring, summer, fall, or winter?

I’m a Late Spring person. I hate cold, even a cold breeze. However, I hate extreme heat. In Florida you can only experience the prefect weather in Late Spring or Early Fall.

4. What are you passionate about?

Writing and Reading. They have been my passion for as long as I can remember. Nothing thrills me more than the written word.

5. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be less forgetful. My mind is always so filled with ideas and characters that it can distract me from the things I need to do.

6. Who are your favorite authors?

I love Edgar Allan Poe and Shakespeare. They both captivate the human experience in such unique ways.

7. What advice would  you give to aspiring writers?

Write. Even if you think your ideas are stupid or not book material. All of my ideas started as not being book material. However, after writing, rewriting, and editing the story began to flesh out in a unique way that prevented me from ever stopping.

Write everything.

8. Cats or dogs?

To be honest, I’m a turtle person.

Here’s my pet,  Fred:

Don’t worry and Keep writing.

10. Where would you like to be five years from now?
