Resurrection by Boone Brux

Resurrection by Boone Brux is at it's heart a page turner of the old school fantasy style. I'm a pretty discriminating fantasy reader and usually hate, hate, and dare I say it again, hate "fantasy romance" novels. Every fantasy romance I've ever read never manages to merge the two together in a way satisfies either craving. Either the fantasy elements take a backseat, acting as nothing more than a weak setting for a romance novel that couldn't make it on it's own somewhere like Cleveland or it's a perfectly good fantasy novel that had a bunch of romance shoved in to make it more marketable cross genre. Like one of my favorite comedians I told you that part to bring us to the point where I can tell you this – Boone Brux's Resurrection is neither of these things. This is the perfect union of a fantasy page turner and a romance novel to keep you up all night long. The best way I can think of to describe it – "Robert Jordan but with better sex."

I was hooked on Page 1. Because if you think you've had a bad day trust me Ravyn's is so, so much worse. I started reading this on my lunch break during my day job and  immediately felt better. And it was a Tuesday. No matter how bad my job is at least I haven't been woken from a sound sleep to attacked by a demon. Or dunked in an icy river, or—Well you get the idea.

Then again, I didn't get saved from my day by a guy like Rhys. Although I might have been willing to forgo the staff meeting and get kidnapped by a demon if Brux's hero was the guy saving me. Help, help, I've being held captive by a cranky financial statement. Save me Rhys. Damn,  no luck. He's too busy melting Kindles everywhere with the sexual chemistry he's got going with Ravyn. And trust me, this guy could have sexual chemistry with a phone book. Give Mr. Tall, Dark and Angst ridden a strong female character with her own trust issues and this book should come with a fire extinguisher.

This book isn't just a must buy. This book is a must preorder. And then Boone Brux should be put on your authors to watch list so that you can preorder the next book in this series the minute it's available. Because trust me, with the way Resurrection ends you're going to be counting the days until Brux's next release. I know I will be.
