A delicious historical romp!

The Layered Mask is a wonderfully written tale of love shackled and enslaved by the expectations and censure of society. Ms Brown has done her research and made me feel as if I were part of Downe and Edwin's world. I could not put this story down.

Although I loved the solution, I did feel it was too easily achieved and would have loved to read whether or not it came to fruition. Perhaps that is being saved for a possible sequel? :)

A beautiful escape from the contemporary. I LOVED IT!
