Review
Behind Shadows: A Psychological Mystery Thriller by Netta NewboundMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Psychological Thrillers aren't my usual reading fair, but Netta Newbound's writing style makes for a roller coaster of an emotional ride you are helpless to escape from, until the final word. Her skill with pacing and the building of tension get your heart racing and instill an irresistible urge to keep those pages turning.
Both main characters have well thought out backstories and possess something that adheres you to them. You care about what happens to them, and you're left teetering on the edge of your seat hoping like hell Ms Newbound doesn't go where you think she's going; only to sigh with relief or hide under your blanket. The fact that the villains could be anyone you know, just makes them all the more terrifying.
If you're used to fluffy romances where characters walk through the sun-dappled glades of soulmate heaven, this is not the book for you.
If you enjoy reaching the last page and feeling like you've survived one hell of a journey, with characters who have fought their demons and become stronger for it; then you'll enjoy Behind Shadows.
