Learning about myself

In everyday life I work better around schedules and goals for the day/week. I like set schedules keeps everything in my life on track. I do try to be flexible and work around people or help out by switching when needed.
When I decided trying out my writing again and hopefully getting a book out outlining is where i went to first. Remembering when I was young how much i liked to outline and was pretty darn good at it, too.
Outlining, mapping and questioning my characters was a Tuesday night ritual while bar-tending.
By the end of the book i found out that yes these steps did help, but how i actually wrote the book was more by pantsing than going off of my outline.
This really surprised me because for a long time i really thought to get the book done outlining, for me, was a must. Actually at times stressed over doing my outline and putting scenes into place. When in actuality i would just write and the scenes just came to me.
As I start my second WIP writing is what I am doing. A little at a time and some days come easier than others, but trying to just let the words flow and the characters tell me where to go. I have done a little note taking with some questions for the book in general and some research for characters accident.
We shall see how this works out right from the beginning, but at the same time if I need to do a little I will just to keep the ideas flowing.
Always try to find out new things about yourself. Never let yourself go sterile especially because you "think" you can't achieve a new scenario in life. We need to keep on living and changing to become a better form as we get older in life.
