The screenplay sat and sat on my computer in a file.
Nope, I apparently couldn't get the right words on paper to capture any agency's attention.
But then, One Direction happened. Yep, my daughter became a HUGE One Direction fan and this is what prompted me to switch back to novels.
She was going through every single emotion I went through during my days of being a Duran Duran fan in high school. And those days were well documented in my screenplay. I wanted her to read it, but she was only 11 years old at the time. The solution? Turn my screenplay into book format so that she could read it. Again, late nights and more late nights followed. Up til 2am sometimes; I'd look at the clock at 4am on occasion. But the words were spilling out of me at times and I couldn't stop. My writing career was revitalized and I couldn't be more happy that it started because of a band.
