Luki Vasquez as muse...

I'll admit, I'm a fickle author. First one muse, and then another. Yes, it's true. My character is my muse. Recently Luki Vasquez has been my muse and he's still hanging around, along with co-muse Sonny Bly James. They enjoyed arguing constantly inside my head while I was writing their (M/M erotic) romance/thriller, Loving Luki Vasquez, and now they're doing the same with the next Vasquez and James adventure, Delsyn's Blues. Only this time, they are sharing head space with a big red dog yet to be named...

In case you don't know it, quite a bit of the banter in my head ended up on the page in Loving Luki Vasquez. If you haven't already checked it out, consider doing so now. It would make me a happy author (as well as a fickle one), and Luki and Sonny Bly could bicker about which one of them caught your attention first. (Recently they've been stuck on what to call the dog. Sheesh. Stay tuned, they may need help with this... )

Lou Sylvre Oh, that's perfect! Any name suggestions? Elizabeth wrote: "Hey, that's a Chow Chow, Martha Stewart has some."

Elizabeth Noble Fluffy? LOL. they're very one person dogs and often aren't sociable to those not in their family if that helps.

message 4: by Lou (new)

Lou Sylvre Well, no that doesn't help... I like the Fluffy suggestion. But the one person dog thing, and other stuff I've read just now about Chow Chows makes me realize he really is perfect for the part. Elizabeth wrote: "Fluffy? Elizabeth Noble Killer might be a good name. I do think the blue-black tongues are cool.

How about Puff or cheesy poof...okay, I'm getting giddy, time for bed me thinks.

Rhys Ford I've been out pimping you. :::grins::: And now I'm watching Old School Star Trek.

Lou Sylvre I don't know! Killer, cheesy poor. About the same... I didn't actually know about the blue black tongue, but I think that just makes it better. But you don't sound enamored of Chow Chows? Maybe when you're awake again you can tell me... Elizabeth wrote: "Killer might be a good name. I do think the blue-black tongues are cool.

Lou Sylvre Hi Rhys! Yeah, I heard you were pimping me. That's okay, that's just fine. I can do with that kind of pimpin... ;-) Rhys wrote: "I've been out pimping you. :::grins::: And now I'm watching Old School Star Trek."

Elizabeth Noble Pimping and Old School Star Trek, not two things often put in the same sentence. heheheee

I guess I'm not a fan of Chows. I'm a lab/dane/big happy slobbery mutt person.

A. Catherine Noon Hi, Lou! I like the idea of the Character as Muse. I think that I might agree that mine are similar, in that they demand their stories get told. They become as real people in my head, with their own distinct voices and personalities. (o.O... that sounds like abnormal psych 101, doesn't it?) But seriously, I like the idea of the Character Muse. Nice wordpic, that!

message 11: by Lou (new)

Lou Sylvre Hello, Noony. Truth be told, I think if a character isn't a little abnormal (psychologically speaking), there won't be much of a story. As to authors thinking about their characters as real people, that's not abnormal at all... is it? Thanks much for stopping in to comment!

Lou

Elizabeth Noble Name the dog Stewie! Did I enter in the right place?

message 13: by Jambrea (new)

Jambrea Jones I'd say Barron. He looks just like the dog we had with that name. :)

Lou Sylvre Entering here works fine, Elizabeth, and I'm glad you chimed in with Stewie. A possibility for sure... Elizabeth wrote: "Name the dog Stewie! Did I enter in the right place?"
