Read it again Sam
What is it about reading the same book over and over again? When I read a book that grabs me, I have no problem starting that book again a few months later. I have books in my library that I have read four or five times. I have read the entire Harry Potter series six times, the Eragon books, three times and the Jumper books ten times. Stephen King's The Stand is so long I have only read it four times. Why do I keep going back and reading the books again? Will the ending be different? Will a character who died last time I read it, survive this time? I know the story theoretically doesn't change, but in reality it does. For me, when I read the book again, something I glossed over might stand out, a small detail I didn't realize was staring me in the face. But most importantly I get to share the lives of my heroes all over again, I get to relish the downfall of a hated villain. Reading a book for the second time can create a whole new world that you didn't visit the last time you read the book. I still get sad when I read the death of Dumbledore, I still laugh when David Rice tells the NSA he is an alien then teleports right in front of them. I would like to challenge either one of you that reads this, pick up that book you read long time ago and read it again. Enjoy the experience once more.
