Writing is something I've always enjoyed and over the past 11 years or so, I've really fallen in love with the craft. As a video game designer, I've worked on some huge complex projects, and these almost always include detailed writing, fiction, characters, dialog, and more, but writing a novel is absolutely liberating. My favorite aspect is writing the kind of story I love to read, shaped by my boyhood love for Conan, Elric of Melniboné, and Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. Here's to the influences!
