Goblins!!!!!

So this weekend is time out to churn over and tie up the next bits of plot and draw the first part of the book to a close. As the heroes return to the village chased by giants the Wise Wench is worried that the cowardly little goblins will all hear rumours about the approaching giants and run off, so she throws a party to get them all drunk, assuming free food and ale is enough to keep a goblin rooted to the spot so that when the giants arrive, there is a least a show of force. This is necessary so that her cunning plan will be shown at its maximum; the cunning plan naturally involves a giant, winged iron hamster.

Having these breaks really helps I find to get my head around the ridiculousness of it all. I just sketch out plot ideas in a journal and let them come together slowly, I find that works best.

The book then needs to get the main characters out to complete a quest and back before the main force of giants arrive for the big final battle. I'm naturally thinking along the lines of some sort of sleek racing pig...
